Two Front Teeth

Victor finally lost his other front tooth - just in time for Christmas! He lost it yesterday while at school. I love the smiles of children while they're missing their two front teeth.

Surprise!!!!

We're pregnant!!! We were planning on waiting to announce our good news but I just can't keep it a secret any longer...I've also been extremely sick so people around me have figured out what's going on. :-) And those that haven't think I have the swine flu. We're due July 16th. We had an ultrasound a month ago and there was no heartbeat so my heart sunk since we've experienced that before. Just a couple days later the morning sickness started and it started hard which helped ease my fears! Two weeks ago I had another ultrasound and everything is great! The baby was really small in the first ultrasound but is now measuring a couple days ahead! And we heard the strong heartbeat!

I'm on the same medication for vomiting that I was on with Victor but this time I'm still vomiting and spend most days laying on the couch. Thank God I have such a wonderful husband and mom! My mom has done so much for me and the boys the past month! She cooks for us so I don't have to and she picks Victor up from school since my morning sickness hits the worse in the late afternoon. And my husband...he is just amazing! He is doing the cooking, cleaning, and helping Victor with homework...and he hasn't complained once!!! No wonder I love him so much! :-)

We've decided NOT to find out the sex this time! We want to have one that is a surprise so we can't wait! I have another ultrasound on January 4th.

All I want for Christmas is my ONE front tooth!

Victor finally lost his front tooth! For weeks it was hanging there looking gross. He would always play with it but he wouldn't let anyone else touch it because he feared someone would try to pull it out. He lost it in his sleep and thank goodness we found it in his bed! It would have been a disaster if he swallowed it! He would have been heart broken. The toothfairy brought him a whole bag of pennies! Just what he wanted! :-) The other front tooth is very loose now. Perhaps it'll come out in time for Christmas and he'll need both front teeth for Christmas.

October / November Events

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything! It's been pretty busy around the Jensen house lately!

We'll start with Halloween.....
Victor wanted to be Optimus Prime and Brian wanted to be SpongeBob. My mom made a pretty cool SpongeBob costume! Brian loved it! We trick-or-treated down my parents' street and our street and then we went to a haunted house at the church that charters our Cub Scout pack. It was a pretty scary and gruesome haunted house! Brian did not enjoy it one bit! At the end they talked to you about how God is always there and you don't have to be afraid. After the haunted house we went to the Harvest Festival at the church where Victor goes to school. They had such a great time and got more candy then I know what to do with!!

October was also an important month for my Cub Scout! Victor earned his very first rank, Bobcat! He was very excited.

Now onto November -
We got some great news!! Victor applied for Warrant Officer and the list was supposed to come out September 30th. But, typical Marine Corps...it came out in November! It was so hard waiting but it was a relief to see his name on it! He will go to Quantico, VA again around January 21st. This school is different then the OCS school he has attended the last two years. This time he will be pinned and appointed a Warrant Officer the first week of February. The boys, me, and my mom will be flying out there for a week. We're going to spend a few days touring Washington DC. It will be very exciting. Brian asks me every day if it's time to go on the plane yet. He looks forward to flying! Victor will then go through Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC) and will graduate on May 20th. We won't be flying out for his graduation since my brother is getting married the next day. Sometime in the next year and a half, Victor will then leave again for another schooling. We are very excited!! It's been a long road and a lot of stress so it will be a real relief to have this officer stuff done and behind us! So this ball picture is the last you'll ever see with Victor in this uniform! Next year he'll be wearing an officer's uniform!

On the same day we received our good news about Victor, we received bad news from Victor Carl's doctor. The day before (Nov. 4th) Victor Carl fell at school and hurt his arm. He wasn't able to move it much and it swelled slightly so I decided to take him to the doctor. He went for x-rays and the doctor didn't see anything so she sent us home and told us to move it around and radiology would look at the x-rays the next day to make sure she didn't miss anything. Well....the next day her office called to let us know that the radiologist had found a fracture in the radial head. I had to take him in to get casted. Since the break is inside the elbow they only put a half cast on him (under his arm) and then it was wrapped in ace bandages. This week we went back to the doctor for more x-rays and the fracture hadn't gotten worse so they took off the cast and he's in just a sling now. He will have x-rays again the day before Thanksgiving to see if everything looks right. It's so hard for him since he doesn't get to play or run at school but he's a trooper and is doing great!

San Jose

This last weekend we went to San Jose. We stayed with my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins. We spent Saturday with them at the Children's Discovery Museum. On Sunday Victor and I ran the San Jose Rock n Roll half marathon.

I've done virtual half marathons and we've run many training runs longer than the distance of a half marathon (13.1 miles) but Victor and I haven't had much time to run since our last marathon in May so we decided we'd just do this one for fun - no time goals. My longest run since the marathon was 8 miles so I was a little nervous jumping right back up to 13 but I did it. Victor ran a 1:53 and I ran a 2:09. I would have liked to do better but I wanted to take it easy and just relax and that's what I did so I'm not beating myself up about it. Next time I'll break 2 hours. :-) The weather was great and the course was pretty flat except a few rolling hills in the second half. Definetly a course I would run again. I really enjoyed the half marathon but it seemed like it was over way too fast. I was just getting warmed up and in 'my groove' when I realized I was already half done! I will definetly run a half again but it definetly won't replace the full!

Babyshower for Tiffany

My bestfriend was back in town this week and we threw her a babyshower! Tiffany has a 7 year old and has been trying to get pregnant for what seems like an eternity and after LOTS of prayer and many doctors, God has blessed her greatly with another boy due in December! We cannot wait to see him!!!

The picture above is actually Tiffany's belly and an actual ultrasound picture of the baby inside the belly! Awesome gift!!!

Katie's Wedding

My sister has been a newlywed now for a couple weeks. Her and Ben were married on September 5th. The wedding went great. Brian and Victor were the ringbearers. They did such an awesome job walking down the aisle together. Not much into the ceremony Brian begins dancing around and anounces he has to go potty. Then once he returned, Victor was trying to be helpful in getting Brian to stand still so he was pulling Brian's hair and elbowing him. They put on quite a show. The boys had a blast at the reception! They were both dancing machines until Brian pooped out and slept. Victor danced with my cousin Megan so hard that his tooth fell right out (we were expecting this one to come out, unlike the 1st tooth). Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Nicholson! We love you both! Now we prepare for my brother's wedding!!

Also, my Dad's side of the family got to visit California for a few days!!!! My dad's mom, 2 sisters, a brother-in-law and neice all came to visit from Iowa ---and he didn't know they were coming! We kept it surprise and boy was he surprised when they walked into the living room when my dad was watching TV! We see my Grandma once every couple years but I haven't seen the rest of the family in 18 years! It was great to see them again! My brother and financee, along with us, took them up to Whitney Portals for the day. It was a beautiful day and they really enjoyed the sights! It was great to be around family again!
